HEDY LAMARR
Hedy’s background is made of blue and white beads from a Maasai bracelet and represents the frequency hopping pattern that she invented, which is today’s WiFi. Hedy was such a beauty the male dominated world would not take her genius seriously so she is composed as annoyed and frustrated. She is placed on a ½” couch charm given as promotion from a furniture company and the couch fabric pattern taken from a Murano glass ring. Of course, the couch is symbolic of the famous Hollywood casting couch but she never quite sits on it. Her dress is fashioned from an Indian lapis lazuli ring, the gloves made of antique jet shoe beads, and because she was Jewish and loved the USA, her bracelets carry the symbols in the form of an antique rhinestone USA pin, my mother’s Star of David and a blue feather bracelet from a thrift store which also makes her hair. Her eyes are green jade and her ruby lips are ruby red Murano glass from a ring. Her star power is from an 80’s silver necklace.
